Teamwork is one of the
most important elements of any major organization. Teams working together can
produce a higher output with great efficiency, while maintaining a high level
of quality. Grouping individuals together however is a very complex task. Team
building activities should be an integral part of any organization. It can be a
powerful way to unite a group, develop strengths, and address weaknesses.
One of the
activities I’ve been part of at work has been our company sponsored bowling
night, its paid by the bank. Everyone in the branch is invited and split into
teams for a fun night. This is a great opportunities
for employees to mingle and get to know each other better.
I agree, every semester I have group projects for school. These projects are very hard to do all by yourself. I've found that spending time together getting to know each other better during the first meeting leads to a more productive group. We discuss what we strength and weakness are; using this information we break down our task. This leads to quality project.
ReplyDeleteLike playing a video game, it's hard to beat a tough monster. However, a group of players can beat many monsters very fast. This's team work.
ReplyDeleteWhen I toke MART1199 this semester, I had a big project in which we had to introduce a product. My teammates and I did a lot of research and spend multiple hour experimenting and conducting surveys. Finally, we handed in a 30-page report within a week. An individual would not be able to do the same within the short period of time.
ReplyDeleteThe company’s that organize such activities for their organization have a very organized and well communicating team. Through these activities the crew gets to know one another in which as a result is a better team.
ReplyDeleteThe professor usually gives us 15 minutes to get to know one another before assigning team assignments. We have a chance to discover the strength of the group members. I know that many companies use potlucks in a form of an activity, so the team members are able to communicate. By doing so, the participants are able to be comfortable in an informal manner.
